Dog + Memory Card = Chew Toy

I was exploring the web page Ontrack DataRecovery, can be found here Link

What this company specializes in is Data Recovery from any typed of computer system. Weather it be a simple e-mail recovery to the complex whole systems recovery/server. I like to keep up on a company like this for “just in case.” I now know that if my dog chews up my memory card this company can recovery my data.

Ontrack has released their 2005 Data Disaster league table. Which is their top ten list of the most funniest computer mishaps of 2005. You can read it all here Link

Although most of them are very funny, I especially enjoyed the one that a customer had left is memory stick lying around and his dog had found it and used it for his chew toy. Of course, I instantly thought, oh here’s another new excuse for not doing your homework. Then, elaborating on any corny joke I could think of.

Also, in this list is a woman writer who was so upset with her computer that she took a hammer to it. Engineers said that the hammer imprint was clearly visible on her top cover. Now, I know at one time or another we all have wanted to do this…but, never have. But, just in case you ever do, you know that Ontrack can fix it for you.

Those are just a couple of my favorites on this list but, if your looking for a good laugh (unfortunately at someone else’s expense) Check out this complete list. It is rather amusing.

All of them, of course....you don't think a company like that'd lie about things just to get your attention/business, do you?
